Matt, an email from your wife, Darlene said that you were the author of the following: "Moses stuttered. David’s armor didn’t fit. John Mark was rejected by Paul. Timothy had ulcers. Hosea’s wife was a prostitute. Amos’ only training was in the school of fig-tree pruning. Jacob was a liar...." I was actually surprised to hear that, everywhere I have seen this on the www, the author is credited is being "unknown." She said it was published by you in a book of plays compiled by Gail Blanton - let me know if I got this right.
I am. It was actually published in 1992 in a collection called 101 Scripts for Stage, Street and Sanctuary. It was the introduction to the book. It's been one of those things that got out there on the net around '99, I had put it in a CD-ROM project called Actors Not Included- produced by LifeWay and I imagine someone began emailing it to lots of people and it turned up on over 200 web sites. It was a mixture of wonder and anxiety... Wonder at the power of personal websites and that God had used this little article and a little anxiety that my name had been replaced by a couple of other peoples names-- mostly pastors that used it in their column and then put their name at the end of it- perhaps not realizing that it looked like a claim of authorship. (That's what I'd like to think) Anyway, my anxiety is that one day I'm going to be speaking and someone will say- why didn't you give credit to So-and-so person and company X. But anyway that's the short of a long story.
